Advanced Easter Camp
The St Colmcilles U14 and U15 boys enjoyed an excellent 2 day Advanced Camp in Piltown this week with St Colmcilles GPO Niall Kane. Niall was joined on Monday by his Meath team mate Eoin Lynch and on Tuesday by another team mate, the legendary Micky Burke. Both players made the long journey over from Longwood to generously give of their time to share their experiences and expertise with the Cilles boys.
Over the course of the two days the boys learned about injury prevention, through the use of their new foam rollers and bands and learned some new stretching techniques and exercises to improve core strength and flexibility.
The gym sessions were complemented by some excellent classroom sessions on video analysis, diet and nutrition.
Each attendee also underwent a number of fitness, strength and agility tests over the two days setting a baseline for improvement as they progress through the season.
As the weather improved, the boys took to the field on Tuesday afternoon for some games based sessions to work on movement and team play.
This was a fantastic experience for the young players to learn from some of the best from Meath GAA.
