COVID-19 special tribute

The Drogheda Male Voice Choir recently had a reception to honour the Frontline workers at Millmount recently. Due to our COVID-19 volunteer group and the work they did during the lockdown, we were invited to represent the clubs efforts.

To everyone who put in a huge effort in the period we thank you sincerely. We had a huge support from our Covid 19 volunteers who did shopping, dropped medication, walked dogs, fixed dishwashers, delivered newspapers and were at the end of the phone for anyone in our community who needed reassurance or help for anything. The East Coast first responders group also helped out. Overall, we did over 400 jobs and nothing was too much effort for the group who were involved. Many selflessly gave their own time to help others. This was no hardship for anyone as everyone involved just wanted to help.

Our teams took part in uplifting video messages, fundraising initiatives and made phone calls to supporters and we hosted wellbeing seminars.

It was humbling for the club to be recognised for our efforts in the Pandemic in the same light as the real heroes of the battle – doctors, nurses, ambulance service etc.

We are very proud to take part in Choir’s new video promoting all that is good about the Drogheda and North East and we were blown away by the singing skills of our volunteers! Yes – that’s You’ll never walk alone we see some Man United supporters singing

To each and everyone who played a part no matter how small in supporting our community during lockdown we say a huge thank you. Community is our focus and we thank you all

Stay safe everyone and stand firm

Good luck to the Choir with their new video and we hope to see you all at some social functions in the very near future
