GAA Updates The GAA issued up to date guidance – on Tuesday – you can read it here: GAA Updated Covid Guidance – 10/02/21 We will let you know when we’ve a clearer picture of what will start back and when, but we’re hoping for a slighter later than usual return of our academy, the week after Easter. Time will tell if its allowed to go ahead.
Membership 2021
2021 Membership is now open for the 2021 Season. The price increase which was agreed at the 2020 AGM for the 2021 season has been deferred until 2022. Rates will remain as per last year. You can register on our website HERE.
Condolences
We wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to the Minogue family on the loss of Séamus, father to Caoimhe and Siobhan, who passed away last weekend.
Our sympathies also the Alan Kelly and his family on the loss of Alan’s brother Liam in Finland this week.
And to the Butler family, who lost Jane’s Dad Charlie this week also.
The thoughts and prayers of all your friends in the club are with you all at this time.
My Life Challenge #everystepcounts
There are over 250 of us walking and running in our club gear on the footpaths & beaches of East Meath. We’ve taken first place in Leinster in the GAA Walking Challenge with Irish Life this week and will have to work hard to stay ahead of our neighboring county club team @clontarfgaa.

GAA Archives
The GAA, in conjunction with the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland, have launched the GAA Digital Archive at Croke Park providing free access to past GAA matches to internet users around the world.
113 All-Ireland finals since 1961 are included in the archive and provincial finals from 1961 also feature. The new archive also includes All-Ireland club finals since 1989.
In all, over 500 football and hurling matches were retrieved from broadcasters and information such as date, result, venue, referee, scorers and teams and substitutions was added.
This might be useful to all GAA fans during this time of isolation!

Walk n Tone Podcast Programme Do you want to add more variety to your walks? Meath LSP are launching our Walk n’ Tone podcast programme! This is a 4-week walking programme that includes 2 podcasts per week. The podcast includes mobility, balance and walking incorporated with some strength toning exercises. Toning videos will be included to give guidance on how to perform the strength/balancing exercises with correct technique. Our tutor will TALK you through each session. Suitable for beginners. It can be completed in your own time. The podcast programme will start on Monday 15th February. Beginners Pilates is for people who would like to try pilates for the first time! Improve your strength, flexibility and balance from the comfort of your own home with an experienced Physiotherapist. There will also be an additional progression programme after completing these 4 weeks. Improvers Circuit Training Improvers Circuit Training is for people who have some experience of circuit training. This is a 4 week programme with two classes per week which will be held live via Zoom on Mondays & Thursdays @8pm.Starting Monday 1st March. There is no equipment required. Safeguarding 1 Basic Awareness in Child Protection23rd March | 7th April | 6.30pm-9.30pm | Zoom (ONLINE) This workshop will highlight the main principles of the Code and look at measures that clubs can take to create and maintain the safest possible environment for sport for young people. This course is essential for anyone who is in contact with children in their club. Due to COVID-19, courses will now take place via online platform – Zoom. The course is certified and it will have the same content and tutor delivering. The cost of the course is €20 if you are in a club in Meath and €30 if you are in a club outside of Meath. Family Fun Games Meath LSP have a series of family fun games resources on our website! These games focus firstly on being FUN for all the family. They are easy to understand, easy to replicate and require very little equipment. Alternatives are provided so if you don’t have the equipment, household items can be used instead. These games are not only for fun but for passing the time during this period of isolation and getting the recommended activity levels in. They also focus on improving children’s physical literacy and FUNdamental movement skills, which is so important in allowing children to move confidently in a wide range of activity and sports settings. Dirty Dancing “Time of My Life” – It’s one of the most famous movie songs of all time and a real favourite with teens. Our tutor will take you through a newly choreographed routine in two easy to follow sessions. Dancing is a whole-body workout that’s actually fun! It’s good for your heart, it makes you stronger and it can help with balance and coordination. A 30-minute dance class burns between 130 and 250 calories- about the same as jogging. Each school will receive a school basketball pack which includes basketballs, hula hoops, cones and training bibs. Everything you need to introduce basketball in your school for a cost of €25!
