Senior Management 2021 – Thank You
It is with a heavy heart that we announce that our Senior team management for 2020 and 2021 of Micky Conlon, Neil Cooney, Graham Leech and Mickey Brennan have stepped aside.
We cannot express enough our thanks for the hard work that the management team has put over probably the two hardest seasons there have been. Under their stewardship we reached only our second ever senior championship quarterfinal chalking up some wonderful performances and creating a great belief for the future. During the 2021 season, the legendary Paddy Carr also joined our team and what great value he brought to the set up and our club.
Micky ends his second stint as adult team manager with the club and on each occasion has left an indelible mark on us. In 2014 and 2015 he made huge strides, changing the mindset of our teams and sealing a first ever promotion to Division 1 of the league and an intermediate semi-final, paving the way and sowing the seeds for the glorious year that was 2016. In 2016 he was manager of our Minor Championship winning side and in 2021 he carries the hopes of our community and club this weekend as joint manager with Stephen O’Brien he once again leads us in the Delany Cup decider where we face the mighty Donaghmore Ashbourne
Neil and Mickey B are also Cilles legends and stalwarts, Neil, a former player and Meath star led our Junior D team to the final in 2019 whilst Mickey B is so often the go to man when you needed something done. He was part of the backroom that delivered County and Leinster Intermediate titles to the Cilles and has never been found wanting when his club needed anything. Former Louth and O’Raghllighs player, Graham Leech made a big impression on all our young players and he can look forward to a very bright coaching future ahead
Micky, Neil, Graham, Micky and Paddy – a huge thank you for everything you have done, for the joy you brought to all our supporters and we know that you will each be our greatest supporters in 2022
