Welcome to the ‘NEW’ page for our Men’s Junior B Team (2018).
There are 3 men’s adult teams competing in the Meath Championship this year; Senior, Junior B and Junior D. The Junior B‘s and Senior‘s train together whilst the Junior D‘s who only formed earlier this year train separately. Once players finish up playing juvenile football at Minor u-17 level, they are encouraged to train with the adult teams above as they transition to adult football with League and Championship action from early Spring to late Autumn.
Note: this year there was an u-19 League held early in the year and an U-20 Championship (replacing U-21 Championship) is expected in Oct/Nov. See U-19 Team page for more info.
Team Manager is Liam Walsh and is assisted by Greg Foxe, Joe Kelly and Jackser Kavanagh. For Team queries contact Greg on 087-6176821 or Joe on 086-2366690.
The Junior B Team
As mentioned above, both the Junior B and Senior players train together. We encourage all our Junior B’s to attend as many training sessions as possible and to work on their own personal fitness as necessary. This is not always easy given college/work/family commitments and where there are any issues or queries please approach one of the Team Management, in confidence if necessary.
The aim of our Junior B Team is to provide good competitive and enjoyable football for our panel of players, develop our younger players, build on the experience of our older players and all going well to get some silverware. So far our committed group of players have won 4 from 4 of our Championship matches so far which puts us in the Quarter Finals to be played on weekend of 8th/9th September – a first and a historic moment for St Colmcilles.
To be continued…
