Just before Storm Jorge arrived to the East Coast, the Cilles Ladies Div 2 team took on Navan O’Mahonys in very blustery conditions in Piltown.
Cilles won the coin toss and chose to play with the aid of the wind. After a somewhat sluggish start the girls got going and began to build a good lead to be ahead by 3-8 to 0-3 at half time.
This looked a good lead but with the ever strengthening wind it was looking to be a tough second half for the Cilles and thus it proved to be. The girls had to dig in deep and battle hard to keep the NOM ladies at bay.
The girls hard work paid off when the final whistle eventually blew and the Cilles ladies had their second win of this Div 2 league campaign coming out 3-11 to 2-10 winners over a galant NOM ladies team. Well done to all.
