An understrength junior team put in a massive shift before going down to old rivals, Gaeil Colmcille from Kells in an entertaining Junior B Championship  QF on Sunday.

With 25 players already featuring in senior championship and ineligible for Junior football , this was always going to be  tough ask but in the early stages a shock looked likely.  Mark Savage struck an early goal and this was a lead held all the way to half time as we deservedly went in at the break 1-06 to 0-6 ahead after a terrific performance.    In the second half however the Kells lads displayed their experience at this level to take command and following a goal mid-way through the second half seized control to run out 1-18 to 1-07 winners.  The undoubted panel strength in depth was evident in this campaign as a second successive Quarter Final was reached.  With a host of young talent coming through hopes are high that we will progress another step or two in the coming years.  In the meantime a very exciting league final v Ratoath awaits with the lads promoted too to division 1 following the conclusion of the league campaign last weekend with victory over a very good Oldcastle team

.Well done to all the team, squad and mentors who did their club so proud at the weekend.  A great bunch of lads whose day in the sun is surely close
