Colmcilles V Trim             Ref Henri Clifford

Final Score     Trim 3-10 Colmcilles 3-13

Patchy introduction to initial round  of 2019 Div 1 LMFM Minor championship yields points.

The minor boys got off to a winning start to the Minor League on wed night in a game that was as unsettled and changeable as the current spell of weather.

A healthy crowd were treated to a huge physical battle with very little between these two teams on the night. The Cilles boys started the better but the concession and subsequent punishment of a litany of infringements cost them on the scoreboard. Referee Henri Clifford controlled the game well in the middle and made sure it never got beyond him.

A determined well organized Trim side never let this game out of their reach right to the death.

Colmcilles bravery, determination ,fitness and graft particularly when faced with a strong Trim onslaught in the second half saw the Cilles lads close out a tight affair.

Towards the latter stages of the second period, playing into a stiff breeze. St. Colmcille’s work rate excelled. The belief shown now a permanent  feature of this group.

Guile, fitness and work-rate extended right to the close to seal the two points for the Cilles boys.
