Kilbride 3,8 (17) v Colmcilles 1,3 (6)

Colmcilles headed to Kilbride to play this Div4 clash, which was played under lights. The expansive Kilbride pitch and calm conditions allowed both sets of players to play some attractive football. During the game there was plenty of excitement and goal mouth action at each end. Both teams unfortunately had difficulty finding the goals, with more wides than shots on target. Kilbride edged the first quarter by a solitary score. Immediately after the break Colmcilles took the lead with a well worked goal. Kilbride responded with greater accuracy in both the second and third quarter converting their chances to build up a lead heading into the final quarter.  A few positional changes bolstered the Colmcilles defences. Playing with more freedom the Colmcilles forwards were allowed to concentrate on their shooting, yielding three superb scores. Colmcilles played with great skill and endeavour  but  more precision will be required when they come up against Clonard at home next weekend. Thrown in is in Piltown at 1.30pm on Sunday 31/3/19
