Friday saw the East Meath/South Louth Schools Finals take place in front of great crowds in Pairc Tailteann
Corn Cois Farraige Final
Up first was the Corn Cois Farraige Final and after Le Cheile Lead 12 V 5 at the break, a brilliant comeback saw Duleek Boys NS get within two with 2 minutes to go before Le Cheile got 2 break away scores to win out 17 v 13 in wonderful final.
Jimmy Curran Cup Final
In the Girls final St Pats took a 4 v 2 lead in at the break in what was terrific and tight first half. In the 2nd half St Marys managed to claw the deficit back to a single score but could not get the match level as St Pats under the guidance of retiring Pricipal Gerry Barrett Fire over the insurance point late in the 2nd half to win out 5 v 3 in a great match.
Cooney Cup Final
This was arguably one of the great Cooney Cup Finals and in front a massive crowd both teams served up a real cracker. Realt Na Mara led 0-8 v 0-7 at the break and then stretched their lead out to 11 v 7 before Gaelscoil an Bhradain Feasa came roaring back to leave the score 0-11 v 0-10 with 3 minutes to go. It was end to end at this point but to insurance points at the end from Realt Na Mara saw the Donacarney School lift the Cooney Cup for the 2nd year in a row and 3rd Time in 6 years.
