The scoring of James Conlon, experience of Graham Reilly and a superb goal from Conor O’Byrne set up St Colmcille’s march into the final yesterday.
The Royal County side showed resolve at the Athletic Grounds, Armagh, in fending off a late rally from a Pomeroy Plunketts team that took its inspiration from Frank Burns and Kieran McGeary.
McGeary did much to sustain his team’s challenge, which at one stage appeared to have evaporated when St Colmcille’s led by 2-7 to 0-5.
However, they were rocked when Ben Brennan landed the winning point from a long-range free.
