OIn this round two encounter the Cilles welcomed Bective GFC to Piltown for their opening home match of the year. The Cilles starting fifteen saw four changes to the side that started in their opening round one victory over Seneschalstown.

The home side had much the better of the opening period racing into a 1-8 to no score lead, courtesy of some excellent point taking from Jack Reynolds,  Graham Reilly and James Conlon, with the latter clinically finishing to the back of the net for the opening goal of the game. The Cilles kept the pressure on and went in at half time with a commanding lead, leading 2-14 to 0-3 with the second goal coming courtesy of the boot of David O’Byrne following excellent work from Fearghal Walsh.

The visitors rallied in the opening 10mins of the second half and rattled of 4 points to the Cilles one, to leave the score at 2-15 to 0-7. However the visitors had too much to do and the Cilles remained in control throughout, with the final score reading 3-19 (28) to 0-10. David O’Byrne got his second and the Seasiders third goal of the game. The Cilles made six changes in the second half and we saw a debut for Hugo Collins at adult level.
