Our U11’s made the novel trip to north Meath today in Rd2 of Go Games to play the Drumconrath/Meath Hill combo. Many of our lads made the dash towards the Monaghan border directly after playing in other codes this morning.
In the twin game format the lads took a while to acclimatise to the unfamiliar surroundings but soon got their interplay and crisp passing going. Our hosts played some fine football and will not be out of place amongst the other clubs fielding U11 teams this year. Fantastic anticipation and out in front football by our defenders whilst the midfield players grew more influential as the quarters passed by. This aided our forward lines who always looked dangerous and punished any hesitancy in the home teams defence.
Massive thanks to all who travelled especially the boy’s who helped out by playing for the hosts in the spirit of Go Games. Our future is bright with these young players who continue to develop game by game. Next up an away trip to Enfield in Rd1 the U12 League next weekend.
