Sunday 7th April Abbottstown will go down in history, as the Day that our U13 Hurlers put East Meath Hurling on the Map, with a win in their Divisional Leinster Cross County League Final. To get to this day The Saints have overcome opposition from Laois, Kildare and Offaly.
Today, they overcame their Gallant opponents Burren Rangers from Carlow, in a very tight game. Playing with the wind in the first half The Saints raced into an early lead, that was never relinquished. Dogged determination and a never say die attitude got them through the second half for a truly memorable result, for the Players, Coaches and Parents.
All 27 players got a run today, all their skill and love of hurling really showed, as all the players switched in and out of the team seamlessly, without effecting the balance of the team. All that training on Wednesdays in Stamullen and the weekends in the Seafield has paid.
This squad of Hurlers have shown that dedication and passion, will bring success. This group of boys have been hurling as St Colmcilles and St Patrick’s since U8 Go-Games and came together to form The Saints in 2018.
