St. Colmcilles GAA Club, Pairc Ui Rís, Piltown, Bettystown, Co Meath 0877441731

Result:   St. Colmcilles 7:14  Skyrne GAA 0:03

The Division 8 Championship semi-final was played on Monday evening in Piltown on a damp wet pitch. However the conditions did not affect the Cilles boys who set out their stall early in proceedings with three early points without reply. With both sides fielding 13 a-side, the Cilles defence was ably marshalled by Max Kingston, the centre-field pairing of Conor Bennet and Leon Hart were dominant and the forward line led ably by Pearse Gilroy and Ronan Quinn set about putting the result out of reach of the game Skyrne boys at an early stage of the half.

Leading by 2:08 to 0:00 at halftime, Cilles continued where they left off after the break, racking up another 5:06 to Skyrne’s 0:03 in the second half. The score is not a fair indication of the game as the Skyrne boys put in a dogged display in the second half without much reward on the scoreboard. The scoring was well distributed among the Cilles boys, with Callum Hanna scoring a notable 2:02.

The final will be played next Monday (19/08/19  at 7:00 pm) against Dunshauglin GAA, who disposed of Na Fianna CLG  by 1:13 to 1:06, venue to be announced.
