High Performance Centre - St. Colmcilles

The following Rules must be adhered to so that our club is in compliance with GAA Policy and so that the Officers of the club are protected in the event of accident or injury:

  • You must be a member of St. Colmcilles GAA Club in order to use the gym. This is due to insurance cover.

  • Gym users under 18 may use the gym only as part of a collective session that is supervised by a coach with experience in Strength and Conditioning.

    1. U-16s are not permitted use of gym equipment unless it is part of a collective programme that has been given by Club or County and it must be carried out under the direction and supervision of a coach who has experience or qualifications in Strength and Conditioning.

    2. Only playing members are covered by the GAA/LGFA Injury Scheme when using the gym as part of a supervised training session.

    3. All users must receive an induction overseen by a suitably qualified coach/instructor.

    4. A record of this induction must be maintained and signed by the member and the coach/instructor.

    5. All users must be trained in the use of the equipment.

    6. The sign-in book should be updated each time the gym is used.

St. Colmcilles GAA Executive  – the Management Body charged with responsibility for managing facilities at Pairc Uí Rís Piltown, will oversee that those using the gym are members and have a process in place where Club Players with senior teams have access to the gym. Any groups who wish to use the “gym building” must seek permission from the Club Executive.  Any queries can be directed to Club Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer or members of the Executive.
